Labels in bold are written exactly as they appear in the app.
Steps
- See cost per portion. In the Resep tab, Biaya per porsi and Dari harga jual show cost as a share of the selling price: green up to 30%, amber up to 40%, red above 40%. A product without a recipe or selling price shows no percentage.
- Check the product's cost. Produk → edit a product → stock section. If the product has a recipe, the cost field (HPP in the product table) is locked and reads Dihitung dari resep (calculated from recipe). Without a recipe you type it yourself: "Cost per unit. Auto-calculated when the product has a recipe."
- Margin per menu item. Open Laporan Penjualan, section Profitabilitas Menu: Qty terjual, Pendapatan bersih, HPP (aktual), Laba kotor, Margin % and Kontribusi. When the HPP did not come from the cost recorded at sale, the row carries a tag with its source: Resep saat ini (current recipe), Harga modal (product cost) or Tanpa HPP (no cost); actual cost recorded at sale gets no tag. Margin colours: below 40% amber, 40 to 65% neutral, 65% and above green, negative red.

"Recipe overwrites and locks HPP" explained
- Whatever you typed before is overwritten.
- While recipe lines exist the product form does not let you type a cost (locked). To use your own figure, clear the recipe.
- A line's unit cost is taken in order: ingredient cost, ingredient moving-average cost, product cost (for product lines), then product moving average. Zero means "unknown": if the result is zero (nothing priced yet), the old cost is not overwritten.
Variants
A product variant has only a name, price, SKU and stock; it has no cost of its own. The recipe and HPP are per product, so every variant shares one HPP. If variants cost very differently (Small vs Large) the app does not separate them; use a recipe that represents the average, or create separate products. I found no "average HPP per variant" feature in the app; that is a data-entry choice, not a feature.
